Sealeys traces its origins back to 1851 when it was founded as Robert Matthews & Co. During World War II, it was known as Walker Croft and Jarvis.
In 1983, a lettings partnership between Michael Alan Sears and David John Comley formed, adopting the name Sealeys—a blend of both partners’ surnames. Today, Sealeys stands as the oldest leading estate agent specialising in residential and commercial property sales and lettings across Kent..
Sealeys wanted a distinctive backdrop mural for the main wall of their Kent office. The mural needed to visually capture the rich history of Kent—its past, present, and future—while reflecting the firm’s long-standing heritage in the region.
Collaborating closely with the Sealeys team, I gathered historical photos, archival materials, and other visual references to build a strong narrative for the mural. Using these, I created stylised illustrations that reflect key moments and landmarks in Kent’s history, ensuring each element worked cohesively within the overall composition and spatial layout of the mural.
The final piece was a large-scale illustrated mural, taking approximately 50 hours to complete. This artwork was transformed into wallpaper to adorn the office wall and was adapted into smaller formats for promotional mugs, stationery, website banners, and newspaper headers—giving the brand a unique and consistent visual presence.
