Fair Havens Hospice in Westcliff, Essex, is the only hospice in South East Essex dedicated to caring for adults and children with complex and incurable conditions. Since opening its doors in 1983, Fair Havens has provided vital respite, symptom control, and end-of-life care to over 25,000 patients and their families across Southend, Castle Point, and Rochford.
To continue this crucial work, the hospice needs to raise over £207,000 every week, relying heavily on donations, fundraising events, and community support to remain operational. Clear and compelling communication is essential to engage the local community and encourage ongoing participation and giving.
I have had the privilege of supporting Havens Hospice as a freelance designer for over a decade. Working closely within their brand guidelines, I collaborate with the Events, Legacy, and Lottery teams to design, produce, and manage campaigns that drive engagement and fundraising success.
This includes a wide range of materials—from eye-catching event leaflets, posters, and booklets to impactful outdoor banners, pull-up displays, email marketing campaigns, marathon route maps, participant packs, infographics, and illustrations. Each piece is carefully crafted to resonate with supporters and clearly communicate the charity’s mission and opportunities to give.
I continue to provide ad-hoc design services tailored to the hospice’s evolving needs, ensuring their communications stay fresh, professional, and effective.
